Xbox has published pricing for cloud playtime packs, the add-on for the cloud gaming limits on Game Pass that it announced last month. Launch prices are $3.99 for 10 hours, $7.99 for 25 hours and $11.99 for 50 hours, according to GamesIndustry.biz.
The packs provide ad-free cloud gaming, shorter wait times and high-quality streaming. Playtime does not expire; it stays available until it is used.
The limits themselves were set last month. Game Pass Essential is capped at five hours, Premium at ten and Ultimate at fifteen. Xbox said the cost of providing cloud gaming grows as more people use it and play for longer. It also acknowledged that for some players the practical result is a higher cost.
Xbox Insiders who do not have a Game Pass subscription can preview the pricing options now, with the wider rollout set for November. They can also try ad-supported game streaming, which Xbox began testing earlier this year.
Xbox cautioned that availability, purchasing options, eligible games and cloud gaming options may vary by market, device, account eligibility and preview ring. If you or your players rely on cloud play, check what applies in your region and on your devices before November.
