The Pokémon Company has announced that the Nintendo Switch and mobile versions of Pokémon UNITE will shut down on March 23, 2027, at 00:00 UTC. After that point, players will no longer be able to log in or take part in battles.
Some in-game content will remain viewable for players who prepare. The company said those who download the required library data before the shutdown can still use the feature to view certain records and in-game content. Players who don't download it will lose access.
Monetization has already been wound down. Aeos gem sales and new UNITE Club memberships were suspended on October 27, and automatic renewals have stopped. Current members can keep using their benefits until their membership expires.
The live calendar continues until the end. A special event and a library update are scheduled for November 12. Qualifiers for the Pokémon UNITE Aeos Crown 2027 Tokyo tournament begin on December 5, as previously announced.
Once service ends, the company will take down the game content guidelines for online platforms and stop updating them. It will also stop providing support for the use of Pokémon UNITE videos and images. The company thanked players who have played since service started on Switch on July 21, 2021.
