Epic Games has deleted two restrictions from Section 6e (General Restrictions) of the Unreal Engine EULA. The change applies to all versions of Unreal Engine. The details come from a post on r/gamedev that quotes Epic's statement.

The first removed restriction barred using Unreal Engine, including its source code, as a training input to any generative AI program. It also barred using the engine as prompt-based input where the program trains on that input.

The second removed restriction concerned MetaHuman. It covered MetaHuman digital characters and animation curves, as well as rendered output made to replicate MetaHuman functionality. Those could not be used to build or enhance a database, or to train or test AI, machine learning, deep learning, or neural network technologies.

The source is a Reddit post relaying Epic's wording, so the full updated EULA text is the place to check the current terms of Section 6e.
